Nice to meet you!
A little bit about me...
Hi, I’m Cassie Thompson. I’m 21, originally from Virginia Beach, and I graduated from Cape Henry Collegiate in 2021. I have lived in Virginia Beach my whole life, and although I have moved a few times, I continue to love the city even more after every move. My sophomore year of high school I transferred to Cape Henry Collegiate, where I found a tight knit circle of friends whom I still talk to almost everyday. At Cape Henry, I played basketball, soccer, and field hockey. Was I the star athlete? Absolutely not. But I was always the loudest on the sidelines, cheering everyone on. Outside of school, I spend my time hanging out with my family, going to the beach, and going on adventures with my friends, and traveling. I’m the kind of person who calls my mom 10 times a day, texts my dad about every minor inconvenience.

I chose James Madison University because I’ve always felt a special connection to Harrisonburg. Growing up, I spent a lot of time here visiting my dad’s side of the family, and it just felt like the perfect place to continue my education and make my own memories. Plus, I get to go to my Gram's house whenever I am feeling homesick, need a home cooked meal, or just need a Grandma hug. I truly do love Harrisonburg, and I have made it my home the past 4 years.
With graduation just around the corner, I’m taking in every moment—whether it’s late-night adventures with friends or the inevitable "What am I doing with my life?" moments. I am very excited to see what the future holds. Although it is bittersweet that my time here is almost over, I will forever be grateful of the memories I have and the experiences that have shaped who I am today.

Career Goals
Leadership
I aim to take on leadership roles where I can mentor and empower others, whether that’s in team management, client relations, or community initiatives. My experience as Panhellenic President has reinforced my passion for guiding teams toward success, and I want to continue that in my career.
.
Building Meaningful Connections
I’m at my best when I’m working directly with people. I want to build strong relationships, help clients find the best solutions, and make their lives a little easier. I love the challenge of understanding different perspectives and figuring out what people truly need.
Continuous learning & Growing
I never want to feel stuck or stagnant. I want a career where I can keep learning, take on new challenges, and adapt to whatever comes next. Whether that means earning new certifications, exploring different roles, or just pushing myself outside my comfort zone, I’m excited to keep growing.
